What does Allah look like
What does Allah look like?
What does Allah look like in Islam? Do you know how Quran talked about what does Allah look like? When people pray and say oh Allah grant us the ability to see your face in paradise. Could you feel that?
In the beginning, imagine that you will be able to see Allah’s face in paradise, wouldn’t this be giving Allah the attributes of humans? If not, so, what does Allah look like?
Allah mentions in the Quran a number of His attributes that we should believe in, so how we can believe in them? How we should believe in “What does Allah look like”
Some of the attributes that Allah mentions In the Quran:
(description of Allah in Quran)
Allah says to us in the Quran that He has a Face, Allah says:
“Every being on earth is bound to perish. Only your Lord Himself, full of Majesty and Honor, will remain forever”
So, What does Allah look like!
Allah is referring to himself by saying that his face will remain. That means Allah will not perish. Allah is the First without a beginning and he’s the Last without an end.
Allah is the creator of all what do you see and what you do not see. He has not been created he does not die and he does not have an end.
Hence, Allah says in the Quran that he has a face.
So, What does Allah look like!
In the Quran Allah mentioned that he has two hands, Allah says:
Allah asked, “O Iblîs! What prevented you from prostrating to what I created with My Own Hands? Did you ˹just˺ become proud? Or have you always been arrogant?”
So, What does Allah look like:
In the Quran Allah said that he has Shin, Allah says
“The Day the shin will be uncovered, and they are invited to prostration but they [i.e., the disbelievers] will not be able”
So, What does Allah look like:
The hypocrites who try to prostrate and their back goes one piece and they will be thrown into hell.
Prophet Mohammed tells us that Allah has fingers. Prophet Mohammed said:
“Indeed, hearts are between (controlled by) two fingers of the of Allah’s fingers He changes them as He wills”.
So, What does Allah look like?
Upon considering these attributes, one may say this is similar to humans, however, this is not accepted in Islamic belief at all. If that is the matter, what does Allah look like?

What does Allah look like in Islam?
Allah is the Greatest, no one is like Him, He cannot be compared to any of His creatures. Allah Says:
“Say, (O Prophet) “He is Allah” * One Allah—the Sustainer. * He has never had offspring, nor was He born. * And there is none comparable to Him”.
We have been ordered not to think about Allah, but to think in His creatures. Through Thinking about Allah’s creatures, one may understand how Allah is Great. It is the Greatness that one will not be able to encompass one day at all. Prophet Mohammed said:
“Think about the Creatures, but do not think about Allah, for you will not show Him His proper reverence”.
Then, how one of the creatures would know what does Allah look like, He is the Great Creator? Humans are still not able to understand themselves or things in the universe. We still cannot defeat every disease that attacks our bodies and sometimes treat them in the wrong way. So, how we would know what does Allah look like?
The most intelligent creature that Allah has created is still not able to understand, with his ability to think, how to protect themselves. Would be a correct decision to ask what does Allah look like?!
We should consider ourselves and know which limit Allah gave us of thinking. Our amount of smartness in this life is given for a specific purpose. That is to fix our life and let it be better. But not to think what does Allah look like?
If your cat could know how to solve a complicated math problem, one will not be able to know “what does Allah look like”?
That was just an example to let you understand how it is a level of smartness given by Allah as per every creation’s task in life. However, Allah is most High, and He is the Greatest. We cannot encompass His Greatness, the All-Mighty.
Can Muslims see Allah?
Scholars agreed that Believers will see Allah in Paradise, and that will be the utmost happiness they will have. Allah says:
“On that Day (some) faces will be bright, looking at their Lord.”
Why Does Not Allaah Show Himself in Islaam?
How we can know what does Allah look like?
Let me ask a question, could your smartphone know something about you except what it would be informed of information or that which may be processed?
Yes, it is smart but still cannot reach except what man gives it. Whatever robots may be out of control one day or not, it does not matter. I remind you, it is still an example, Allah is not comparable, and Allah’s Power is not comparable.
So, as one of Allah’s creatures, we have no means to know what does Allah look like except if Allah Himself tells us. That’s why we should believe in what Allah informs us about “what does Allah look like” as it be. Never think of it, and never seek more details.
“What does Allah look like” is not the right question. The right question is how we have prepared ourselves to meet Allah, the Greatest.
We are not able to know “What does Allah look like”, but can clearly know Allah’s Greatness through everything around us, which proves Allah’s Greatness.
We should believe in these attributes Allah tells us about, without trying to know the actual meaning, Allah knows best. We believe that Allah is unlike anything, He is the Greatest.
It is enough to think about things around us and how this universe is working. That thinking would give us a glance at how Allah is Knowledgeable, Merciful, Wise, Powerful, and Great. He is the only one worthy to be worshiped.
