What is Iqlab in Tajweed
Iqlab in Tajweed is one of the rulings of noon Sakinah and Tanween, but what is the reason for Iqlab? Scholars have explained that iqlab tajwid is defined by the difficulty of bringing up idgham. And izhar of the noon sakinah or tanween if the letter ba comes after them; and this is due to the difference between the way out of the letter Baa and the way out of the letter of noun sakinah.
Also, some may wonder why noon sakinah and Tanween were changed to meem instead of other letters. The answer to this is explained by the similarity of the letters “meem” and “baa” in the letters and the qualities of the director, so we will learn the rules of tajweed iqlab in detail in the following paragraphs.
so the question now is how to apply iqlab
After every Noon Saakinah or Tanween, if the letter baa (ب) follows, the sound must be flipped [i.e. changed] to the sound of the letter meem (م). This is represented by a little meem on top of the letter itself as pictured below:
Meaning of Iqlab in Tajweed of the Quran :
In Arabic, Iqlab is a law of noon mati and Tanween law. Linguistically, Iqlab means replacing. While according to the science of Tajweed, Iqlab means changing the voice of reading Nun sakinah or tanween to meem if the letter after is baa.
In general, iqlab is marked with a small letter م, which is the symbol that sentence has an Iqlab reading law. Iqlab is one of the laws of tajweed used by Muslims when reading the Qur’an. Muslims must read the Qur’an according to Tajweed because knowing the science of recitation can improve the reading of the Qur’an. Therefore, we must learn the science of reading the Quran, one of which is related to iqlab. Below is further explanation about iqlab.
Iqlab tajwid has one letter that is baa’, so if baa occurs after the noon sakinah, either in one word or two words, the nun must be turned into a hidden meem, and this also applies to tanween, and this also Allah Almighty says:
كَلَّا لَئِن لَّمْ يَنتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًا بِالنَّاصِيَةِ
Tajweed iqlab is called by this name for the inversion of the nun sakinah, tanween, and the following is taken into account in how to perform iqlab:
The nun sakinah, tanween, or nun talked khafifa is changed to a pure meem in the pronunciation without the calligraphy, taking into account that no trace of the nun or tanween remains.
The meem that is inverted from the nun or tanween must be hidden in the rule of iqlab.
Showing the ghunna with ikhfaa by two movements, and the ghunna here is the inverted meem adjective, not the adjective nun or tanween.
Rules of Iqlab in Tajwid :
Iqlab in Tajweed can only be achieved by three actions which are as follows :
The first: is Reversing the nun sakinah or tanwin or the nun talked khafifa to meme purely verbally and not in error so that no trace remains after that of the sakinah, moshadda, and tanween.
Second: Ikhfa this meem at baa.
Third: Izhar Ghunna with Ikhfa.
Iqlab tajweed is also indicated in the drawing of the Quran by placing a small meem above the “nun sakinah” followed by a “baa”, indicating its inversion by a meem. As for Tanween, one of the two movements is drawn, followed by a small meem.
There are also three types of Iqlab:
First:
Baa is placed after a noon sakinah in these words:
أَنْبِئْهُمْ
Second:
“baa” at the beginning of the second word, “noon” at the end of the first word, for example:
مِنْ بَيْنِهِمْ
Third: Baa’ at the beginning of the second word, tanween at the end of the first word, for example:
عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ
Examples of Iqlab :
There are four types of Tajwid Iqlab in the Qur’an:
1- Example of Iqlab in one word:
The letter iqlab (baa) can be combined with “noon sakina” in one word, then the reader inverts the nun into meem when pronouncing it. There are examples of this in the Qur’an, including the following verse:
Allah Almighty said: ((قَالَ يَا آدَمُ أَنبِئْهُم بِأَسْمَائِهِمْ); The “Nun sakinah” and “Baa” have come together in the word “أنبئهم”.
Allah Almighty said: (كَلَّا لَيُنْبَذَنَّ فِي الْحُطَمَةِ); As in the word لَيُنْبَذَنَّ from the meeting of the nun Sakinah with the ba in the same word.
Allah Almighty said: (يُنْبِتُ لَكُمْ); As in the word يُنْبِتُ, where the “Nun sakinah” and “Baa” came in one word.
2-Example of Iqlab in Two Words:
One form of iqlab is the presence of the letter “Nun” or “Tanween” in one word and the letter “Baa” in another word. An example of the two-word rule of iqlab comes from the following verse:
Allah Almighty said: (مِن بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍ يُوصَىٰ بِهَا); Where the nun came sakinah in a word, and the ba in a separate word.
Allah Almighty said: (وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ); Tanween followed by the letter Baa’ in the next word.
Allah Almighty said: (وَمِن بَيْنِنَا وَبَيْنِكَ حِجَابٌ); The static letter “Nun” came in one word, and the “Iqlab” letter came in the other word.
3- Examples of Iqlab with Noon Sakina:
(فَكَانَتْ هَبَاءً مُنْبَثًّا)
(وَالصَّاحِبِ بِالْجَنبِ)
(وَأَمَّا مَنْ بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَى)
{لَنَسْفَعًا بِالنَّاصِيَةِ}
4- Examples of Iqlab in Tanween:
Iqlab appears in the formation of Tanween Fath, Tanween Kasra, or Tanween Dam, followed by the letter Ba, as in the example below:
Allah Almighty said: (واللهُ سَمِيعٌ بَصِيرٌ).
Allah Almighty said: (ذُرِّيَّةً بَعْضُها مِنْ بَعْضٍ), as it was mentioned in the noble verse, intending to tanween fath, and then the letter Baa after it.
Allah Almighty said: (وأنبتنا فيها مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ بَهِيجٍ), and iqlab here came in tanwen kasr due to the advent of the letter Baa after it.
What is Iqlab Noon Sakinah :
The law of Tajweed Iqlab is that when “Nun sakinah” comes, followed by the letter Baa iqlab is removed, or in one word, or the “Nun sakinah” in a word separates and in another word “Baa”, and examples. of iqlab after the nun sakinah:
Allah Almighty said: (وَأَمَّا مَنْ بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَى),as the Baa came after Noun sakinah.
Allah Almighty said: (فَلَمَّا جَاءَهَا نُودِيَ أَن بُورِكَ مَن فِي النَّارِ), as the Baa came according to the letter Nun sakinah.
Allah Almighty said: (لَنَسْفَعَا بِالنَّاصِيَةِ), and the nun here is not a nun sakinah, but rather it is the noun taukid khfifa whose rule is attached to the nun sakinah
How To Pronounce Iqlab :
Iqlab in Tajwid is one of the rulings of nun sakinah and tanween which is known as the language of reversing something from its appearance. About the terminology: qalb nun sakina or tanween is meem hidden by ghunna when meeting baa.
And it can be defined as making a letter in place of another letter, taking into account the ghunna and ikhfaa in the first letter (the noun sakinah or the received tanween meem), as follows:
It has only one letter, which is the baa’, so if the baa occurs after the nun of a word or two, or after the tanween and it is only from two words, then the nun or tanween must be turned into a meem and the rule here is Ikhfaa with ghunnah.
And Its cause or reason is due to the ease of pronouncing the nun sakinah and tanween by turning them into a meem and hiding them in the baa.
And the reason for iqlab in meem is because the meem unites with the letter baa in the mukhraj, and it is similar to the nun in ghunna, so it was the most suitable letter for iqlab.
Moreover, his mark in the Holy Qur’an is the placement of a list meem above the nun sakinah or tanween to denote it.
