How to Easily Apply Arabic Sun and Moon Letters
Arabic has 28 letters. Arabic characters are divided into 2 groups. Sun and Moon letters. Both groups consist of 14 letters. This classification is based on how this letter affects the pronunciation of the definite article (al) at the beginning of the word. The definite article becomes cursive and loses its original sound. As a result, the sound at the beginning of the word becomes twice. The Arabic letters Moon and Sun, when combined with the definite Arabic article (ال), indicate letters that have a sound before silence, like the letter Sun; or, as in the case of the Moon letter, it has no effect.

I have found that mispronouncing Sun is one of the most common mistakes among beginners.
While it’s normal and okay to make mistakes when we’re learning, if not addressed early, they can become chronic mistakes and habits that are hard to correct.

Moreover, it is so easy to understand and use that there is no reason why Arabic students should not follow the rules of the Sun alphabet.
