How can I make my children adhere to the Qur’an?
First of all, you yourself should adhere to the Qur’an. It is known that children are attentive to what they find their parents are attentive to. Hence comes the importance of the role of parents regarding implanting a certain idea in the children. Your children copy your actions, so be a good example for them.
It is well-known that one of the most important principles that parents should teach their children is the adherence and love of the Book of Allah (SW).
What is the Qur’an?
Many Muslim children do not understand the real position of the Holy Qur’an, especially those who live in countries far from the lands of Islam and not marked by the Islamic identity, as well as those brothers and sisters who cannot speak Arabic. That is normal, for lack of understanding is the normal result of lack of knowledge. Hence, it is mandatory for parents to help their children to truly understand what the Noble Qur’an is, so it will be easier for them to consider and adhere to it.
It is possible to clarify the reality of the Qur’an to your children by telling them stories of the occasions in which parties of the Quran have been revealed to Prophet Muhammad, may Allah exalt his name. That will help them to know how Quran is related to our everyday life and how Quran should control it.
Always try to make your behavior controlled by the teachings of the Qur’an, that your children may see you and know how Quran shall be influential.
Since children try to copy their parents more or less based on their age, and always they are asking about the reason for things, now you can get the chance to explain to them that you do that because it is Allah’s order in the Quran. For example, upon some situation that you were grateful to one of your parents while your child is noticing that, it is your time know to let him know that is the order of the Quran. So the child will see how Quran should be influential to our life
In conclusion, just show your child how important the teachings of the Qur’an are in our lives, and how should Muslim characters reflect them, and surely you will find the result of that comes clearly.
Use the conditionality to achieve this goal
The psychological factor should be taken into consideration, one should try to make the Quran always associated with happy and fine things for the child, and you should prevent the opposite to happen.
Avoid using force but stimulation
It becomes clear how using force can have bad effects on our children. They need verity and simulation, they need someone to understand their interests and concerns, and they need someone to know the proper way to teach them.
Quran should be part of daily life
One of the important things that help the child to adhere to the Qur’an is to know that the Qur’an should have part of his time daily. This can be achieved by joining an educational program repeated weekly.
At this point, we should refer to the Qur’anic educational programs available at the Academy (our quranic programs) that may help you in that regard.

Listen as much as possible to the recitation of the Qur’an
One of the things that help children adhere to the Holy Qur’an is its constant presence in their environment, as playing the recorded Qur’an through television broadcasts or through channels dedicated to reciting the Qur’an.
Learn Stories of the Quran
Qur’an is full of stories and learned lessons, stories of previous messengers and their people, and how Allah was giving victory to the righteous group at the end. These stories are good sources for Islamic principles to be taught to the children in an interesting way.
In this regard, Tipyaan Academy offers a program focusing on Quran stories for children, such as the story of Prophet Adam, Noah, Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Lot, Solomon, and Jesus, peace be upon them all. That is besides other stories mentioned in the Quran like the story of the People of the Cave, the story of the People of the Ditch, and the story of the People of the Elephant which was an attempt to demolish the Ka’aba. Undoubtedly stories are a good way for teaching.
Reward your child
It is natural that children become more excited and motivated towards things that let them get rewards, so the parent should take advantage of this point and try hard to provide material and moral support to the children until they complete their Quran tasks.
For example, reward them with a trip to someplace they wish to visit if they complete a certain part of the Qur’an. No doubt that linking the achievement in the Quran to such rewards will increase the children’s adherence to the Holy Qur’an
Let children bear the responsibility towards the Quran
Finally, please know that repeated orders and requests may cause the opposite effect, so children should be taught to bear their responsibility towards the Quran before Allah.
In conclusion, the Qur’an is the Revelation and the Mercy, the Fragrance and the Nectar of life. Moreover, it is the divine law that Allah sent to us to control our lives. It is the Guidance and the Light.
Parents should keep these meanings in their minds first and try to adhere to the Quran themselves, before asking children to adhere to the Quran.
We at Tipyaan Academy are doing our best to help you achieve that duty by all support we can. We ask Allah to accept us all.
